Position: Manager of Purchasing
Job Description: We are looking for an experienced Manager of Purchasing who has great accounting skills and can run the purchasing department of our rapidly growing company. This person must be focused, accountable, and have great ability for multi-tasking, taking direction, and overseeing details. Successful candidate will also be an excellent negotiator and communicator. 5-7 years + experience required.
Responsibilities:
• Handle negotiation of pricing and contractual terms with vendors.
• Work with accounts payable to reconcile problem invoices.
• Review proposals, negotiate prices, select or recommend suppliers, analyze trends, follow up on orders placed, verify delivery, and maintain necessary records.
• Acquire and maintain technical understanding of products purchased.
• Take lead in developing and executing a corrective action plan for vendors not meeting performance expectations. Analyze vendors’ operations to determine factors that affect prices and determine lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and ability to meet deadlines and schedules.
• Report directly to COO, and work closely with VP of Marketing on pricing and other projects.
• Maintain vendor qualification data and records.
• Ensure that an uninterrupted flow of goods and services, of acceptable quality are supplied for the company at an optimum cost.
• Find new vendors to get the best pricing
• Negotiate all company purchasing contracts
• Continue to develop relationships with current vendors
• Assist in planning and budget meetings for the purchasing department and vendor visits
• Create purchase orders for approval
• Accurately invoice orders/purchases
Skills Required:
Compensation: Compensation: $40,000-$50,000K per year depending upon experience
